GeForce RTX 2060 is a mid-tier performance graphics card developed by Nvidia, which was officially launched in January 2019. Like all the cards based on the Turing architecture, this card was also built on the 12 nm manufacturing process. The RTX 2060 utilizes TU106 graphics chip which has the die size of 445 mm², and packs up 10,800 million transistors. The TU106 chip consists of 1920 stream processors, 120 stream multiprocessors and 30 ray tracing cores, which utilize 6GB of GDDR6 memory over 192-bit memory bus interface.
GPU runs at the base clock of 1365 MHz, and can be boosted up to 1680 MHz in Turbo mode. Also, the heatsink uses L-shaped fins to direct airflow around the card to the places that need most cooling. The card also measures only 170 mm in length, so it should fit inside most mini ITX cases.
Since card features only one 90 mm fan, and is so small, you can expect a lot of overheating problems. The card itself has a thermal limit of 75°C, and after reaching that threshold, it will start to throttle in order to protect its components. Under full load, the fan on this card is pretty loud, and it spins a lot, but it will protect the card very well. If you are keeping your PC in rather cool environment with lot of airflow, they you shouldn’t have any trouble with this card. Otherwise, it might be better to find some alternative RTX 2060 AIB model.
Performance-wise, this card offers GTX 1070 Ti-level performance, and is in no way crippled compared to other RTX 2060. In fact, this card even has higher default boost clock speeds compared to EVGA’s XC Ultra Black model. However, this card has very limited overclocking capabilities due to its weak cooling solution.
