Before analyzing and ranking available B460 motherboards, here is a short recap of features that B460 chipset supports. Along with the basic fact that the new chipset offers support for the 10th Gen Intel Comet Lake processors, motherboards utilizing this chipset can run up to three AMD graphics card in a CrossFireX setup. Unfortunately, unlike the H470 chipset, the B460 chipset has no USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, and it comes with four fewer PCIe 3.0 lanes, compared to H470’s 20 lanes. Since B460 chipset is designed to be business-oriented, it is perfect for building personal home and work PCs, as well as multimedia-theater PCs. Despite the fact that motherboards with this chipset are quite cheap, the B460 motherboards can easily handle high-tier, non-K, Intel CPUs such as i9-10900, i7-10700, or i5-10600. Motherboards with this chipset also support Intel Core i3 processors, so they are quite appealing to users who are trying to build a budget PC.
