Nvidia is considered to be a major player in graphics card industry. There is no surprise that many PC gamers choose to buy Nvidia’s graphics cards. There are many reasons for that – some of them want to experience 4K gaming to the fullest, while many of them are in search for a robust and stable piece of hardware for 1080P gaming. In this article we will rank Nvidia’s best selling graphics cards in 2020, starting with the most expensive models and ending with inexpensive ones, thus covering all price points.

If you are ready to pay some serious money for a video card, then look no further past Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Ti. This card has no real competitors in mass segment market. This graphics card costs so much that you could easily buy yourself a luxurious cruising trip to the Caribbean for its price tag. This is also the only card that could easily be recommended for playing games at 4K resolution, and in many cases its performance is undermined by bad engine optimization. At 4K resolution, this card easily renders 90 frames per second in Battlefield V with all settings set to ultra, 75 frames in Far Cry 5 and more than 60 frames in Final Fantasy XV. Even in extremely demanding titles, such as Red Dead Redemption 2, this card can render more than 45 FPS on average without manual overclocking. Being such a beast of a card, the RTX 2080 Ti tends to run hot. Having that in mind, it is recommended to buy a high quality model with a good aftermarket cooler, preferably even with a liquid cooling solution. Overall, this card is 30-50% faster than GTX 1080 Ti, and it features ray tracing technology.

2. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER

Just like its older and more powerful brother, the RTX 2080 Ti, the RTX 2080 SUPER is an another fantastic graphics card. This card, however, is somewhat controversial from the point of view of the buyer. First of all, its improved computing power compared to RTX 2080 isn’t very impressive. Also, RTX 2070 SUPER offers much performance per dollar than this card, so it seems like a more feasible choice. This card also isn’t able to compete with RTX 2080 Ti which costs much more, but it also offers better performance. Secondly, this card is quite expensive, and is much better choice for 1440P gaming than 4K gaming. Like all other Nvidia’s graphics accelerators, this card is a great overclocker, so if you like performing these kinds of enhancements, this buying this card might be a good choice (provided you have enough money to spare). Overall, the RTX 2080 SUPER is a great graphics card, and is one of the Nvidia’s best selling GPUs, however, if you plan to invest your money more efficiently, then you should search for other options.

3. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER

MicroarchitectureTuring
Fab Process12 nm
Transistor count (million)13,600
Cores/TMUs/ROPs2560/160/64
Memory Size & Type8GB GDDR6

Memory Bandwith448 GB/s
Compute9.06 TFLOPs
TDP215 W
Launch PeriodQ2 2019

The RTX 2070 is one of the few Nvidia’s graphics card which received significant performance boost from the “superization” enhancement program. The RTX 2070 SUPER is in many aspects on par, or even better than the RTX 2080. This card features improved clocks and lower temperatures at almost the same power consumption levels. Not only that, but this card is also an amazing overclocker, so be sure to buy high quality non-reference models from manufacturers such as ASUS, MSI or GIGABYTE in order to push this card to its maximum levels. If you are in a search for a graphics card that will last for years to come, and will satisfy your 1080P and 1440P gaming needs, then RTX 2070 SUPER is a great choice. Like many high-end cards, this card does costs a lot, however, it is a worthwhile investment, and it is no surprise that this is one of the best selling Nvidia’s graphics card. Performance-wise, this card can run Witcher 3 and Battlefield V at over 90 frames per second in 1440P resolution and with all settings set to ultra. If this is not enough for you, then RTX 2080 might be a better choice.

4. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER

MicroarchitectureTuring
Fab Process12 nm
Transistor count (million)10,800
Cores/TMUs/ROPs2176/136/64
Memory Size & Type8GB GDDR6
Base/Boost Clock (MHz)1470/1650
Memory Bus/Interface256 bits/PCIe 3.0 x16
Memory Bandwith448 GB/s
Compute7.81 TFLOPs
TDP175 W
Launch PeriodQ2 2019

The original RTX 2060 was an amazing graphics card which offered many new features, such as ray tracing, for a quite reasonable price. However, the card came with many compromises, among which the most notable one was 6GB of GDDR6 memory. The updated RTX 2060, bearing the SUPER prefix, not only did brought two extra gigabytes of VRAM, but it also came with a significant performance boost of 10-15% more compute power compared to the original RTX 2060. In many aspects the RTX 2060 SUPER is an amazing graphics card, as performance-wise it is on par with the GTX 1080Ti and RTX 2070. This card can push Battlefield V at 1080P resolution to 130 frames per second on average. It can also run Red Dead Redemption 2 at maximum settings at more than 60 FPS, and Witcher 3 at 125 FPS on average. This card’s main competitors are AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT. Both cards are somewhat cheaper than the RTX 2060 SUPER, however, they lack tray tracing capabilities, as well other state-of-the art tech, such as Nvidia DLSS. Overall, this is an amazing graphics card for 1080P and 1440P gaming, but for playing modern titles in 4K you will need something more powerful.

5. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER

MicroarchitectureTuring
Fab Process12 nm
Transistor count (million)6,600
Cores/TMUs/ROPs1408/88/48
Memory Size & Type6GB GDDR6

Memory Bandwith336 GB/s
Compute5.02 TFLOPs
TDP125 W
Launch PeriodQ4 2019

All hail to the king of mainstream 1080P gaming – the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER. After replacing GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, this card is probably the most popular and best-selling Nvidia’s graphics card in 2020. Due to its astonishing price to performance ratio, as well as great compute performance, this card provides the best way for experiencing 1080P gaming at ultra high settings and 60 FPS. This card lacks ray tracing features, however, many gamers don’t seem to be bothered with this flaw, as ray tracing technology does look amazing but it comes with a great cost which for many mainstream users is unacceptable. This card can easily run games such as Witcher 3 and Battlefield V at frame rates higher than 60 FPS at 1080P resolution, which is for many gamers considered to be a great performance. Although this card features only 6GB of VRAM, this amount is more than enough for 1080P gaming as the card comes with super fast GDDR6 memory which won’t bottleneck its graphics processing unit. Overall, for a price of less than $300, this card offers a lot, and if you are tight on a budget and want to build a gaming PC, this card should be your first choice.

Conclusion

Nvidia is considered to be a leading innovator in the computer graphics industry.
