  • Powerful CPU
  • Very good build quality
  • Decent cooling performance
  • Customizable RGB lighting
  • Features slightly weaker variant of the RTX 3070
  • Fans get loud under full load

The MSI Pulse GL66 is not the most expensive, nor the best-looking RTX 3070 laptop, however, it perfectly balances high-end specifications with fairly affordable pricing. The GL66 packs a powerful 8-core Intel CPU, as well as the GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card, and it comes with 16GB of DDR4 memory, and 512GB of storage space.

The laptop features a vibrant 15.6″ Full HD monitor with 144 Hz refresh rate, and can boast with nicely stylized chassis, which also makes it suitable for use in professional environments. MSI equipped this laptop with its proprietary Cooler Boost Technology which ensures optimal thermal dissipation and better airflow while the laptop performs heavy-duty tasks. Like many other high-end laptops, the GL66 also comes with a customizable keyboard lighting and multiple USB ports, including one USB Type-C port. The only major downside of this laptop is that it features the 85 W variant of the RTX 3070, which is still good, but not as good as the 130 W variant.

Best Premium: ASUS ROG Strix G15 (2021)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (115 W) | RAM: 32GB DDR4 | Screen: 15.6″ IPS FHD 300 Hz | Storage: 1TB PCIe SSD | OS: Windows 11

  • Powerful system specifications
  • 300 Hz display screen
  • 32GB of DDR4 memory
  • Lots of RGB elements
  • Pre-installed Windows 11
  • Plastic chassis
  • Expensive

For some gamers, the ASUS ROG Strix G15 doesn’t look particularly special, but there is no denying that this is a very powerful gaming laptop. Inside its bulky chassis, the ROG Strix G15 hides an incredibly powerful AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, paired with the GeForce RTX 3070, and a whooping 32GB of RAM. The laptop also comes with 1TB PCIe SSD, which should provide enough storage space for your favorite apps and games.

The ROG Strix G15 has ASUS Republic of Gamers branding everywhere, from the logo on the lid, to the lettering stenciled on the keyboard surround. The laptop is also abundant with RGB elements, which give it a nice modern look. Most of its chassis is made of plastic, which is something we don’t like, but it’s made of high quality. However, the G15’s display is something that really impressed us the most. It features 300 Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB coverage, meaning it can deliver absolutely stunning image quality. Besides the plastic chassis, the G15’s biggest flaw is its price, which right now is quite high.

Best for Gaming & Work: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Max-Q | RAM: 16GB DDR4 | Screen: 15.6″ IPS QHD 165 Hz | Storage: 1TB PCIe SSD | OS: Windows 10 Home

  • Low-key chassis design
  • Great for content creation
  • 165 Hz QHD (1440p) display screen
  • Good cooling performance
  • Has no built-in webcam
  • Loud fans

Compared to the ROG Strix G15, which is more flashy and oriented towards gamers, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 is primarily intended for use by workstation professionals and content creators. Although it’s also well-suited for gaming, its RTX 3070 Max-Q is more optimized for CAD/CAM modelling and video editing. The Zephyrus G15 also features the AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS, which is slightly weaker than the Ryzen 9 5900HX, but is much more energy efficient.

Speaking of its other advantages, the Zephyrus G15 can boast with low-key chassis design, which makes it perfect for use in business environments. The laptop also comes with 15.6″ QHD screen, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, RGB backlit keyboard, and full compatibility for VR hardware. Unfortunately, the Zephyrus G15 has no built-in webcam, and its fans get pretty loud under full load, but the laptops does stay cool. Overall, this is a high-quality laptop that is best suited for users who want to game and work while being on the go.

Best for 4K Gaming: Gigabyte AERO 17 HDR XD

CPU: Intel Core i7-11800H | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (105 W) | RAM: 16GB DDR4 | Screen: 17.3″ IPS 4K 60 Hz | Storage: 1TB PCIe SSD | OS: Windows 10 Pro

  • 4K display screen
  • Supports HDR400
  • Strong system performance
  • Low fan noise
  • Low-quality webcam
  • Mediocre battery life

The Gigabyte AERO 17 HDR XD probably has the most beautiful display screen among all laptops featuring the GeForce RTX 3070 Mobile GPU. It is the only laptop on our list that supports 4K resolution, and has a 17.3″ display screen. Besides featuring support for HDR400, the AERO 17’s screen can also boast with 100% Adobe RGB, which is perfect for users who want to experience near-perfect image quality.

Speaking of its specifications, the AERO 17 HDR XD comes with the octa-core Intel Core i7-11800H processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage space. The laptop also features one Thunderbolt connector, three USB 3.2 ports, two 2 W speakers, Intel Wi-Fi 6, built-in HD camera, and a huge 99 Wh battery. Thanks to its thin chassis, and even thinner screen bezels, this laptop is also perfectly suited for professionals who, apart from gaming, also need a laptop for work. Besides the high price, the biggest flaws of this laptop are its underwhelming camera and mediocre battery life.

Best High Refresh Rate: Razer Blade 15

CPU: Intel Core i7-10875H | GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 (105 W) | RAM: 16GB DDR4 | Screen: 15.6″ IPS FHD 360 Hz | Storage: 1TB PCIe SSD | OS: Windows 10 Home

  • Second screen with touchscreen capabilities
  • Powerful system components
  • Two USB Type-C ports
  • Good airflow
  • Pre-installed bloatware
  • ScreenPad requires additional drivers to work
  • Heavy weight

Currently, there is nothing even remotely similar to the ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15. It is the only laptop on the market featuring two display screens, with its second screen, called ScreenPad, being fully tiltable and supporting touchscreen functions. Not to mention that its primary 15.6″ display supports 4K resolution. As such, the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 is perfectly suited for content creators who often deal with digital design and video editing, and need a second screen to access numerous options.

Under the hood, the ZenBook Pro Duo 15 packs the 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10875H processor, 16GB RAM, and GeForce RTX 3070 GPU.
