First two months of 2020 have been rather disappointing in terms of new PC games releases. Games such as Grand Theft Auto V, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and PUBG still occupy the top ranks of the most popular games on PC platform. While we wait with an excitement releases of major PC blockbusters in 2020, such as Cyberpunk 2077 and Doom Eternal, here is our pick of the best of old PC games to (re)play in Spring 2020.

5. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

Game that won more than 200 Game of The Year Awards, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an epic and unsurpassed RPG classic that will keep you playing for hundreds of hours. Set two centuries after the events of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, this game takes place in a province of Skyrim on the continent of Tamriel. In the middle of the civil war between two factions – the Stormcloaks and the Imperial Legion – a new hero is emerging. His name is Dragonborn, a mortal who is born with the soul and a power of a dragon.

Playing as Dragonborn, a great adventure lies ahead of you. Skyrim features more than 250 unique quests, and offers plenty of content to indulge in. You can traverse high mountains, explore hidden ancient tombs and depths, loot precious weapons and magical items, gain companions, and even ride dragons (with mods).

Being a pure-blood RPG game, Skyrim offers plenty of interactions with the world and other game’s characters. There is a variety of dialogue options to choose from. You can gain allies, or even choose your own path which will have major impact on game’s storyline. Skyrim is also an amazing game because it features plenty of magical spells to learn and apply in combat or in various situations. You can burn your enemies, heal yourself, and even resurrect old foes to fight by your side. On your journey you will also encounter mysterious ancient enemies, known as Daedra, who inhabit realms of Oblivion and frequently try to expand their power over Tamriel.

Being almost 10 years old, Skyrim has luckily been released in a Special Edition which features enhanced graphics, and various bug fixes and improvements over original game. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition also includes all DLC content such as Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn DLCs. Besides that, the game also supports a variety of mods which you can install, and enrich your gameplay. With mods, you can add to the game custom weapons, armor, companions, maps and even quests. Check our listed prices below so you could add this game to your Steam collection (some offers are time-limited).

4. Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition

Devil May Cry 4 was a great game for number of reasons. First of all it offered an amazingly attractive and smooth hack’n’slash combat, while it provided a very solid main campaign story and stylish graphics. Taking into consideration its quality, Capcom decided to release an enhanced Special Edition which features improved graphics and various gameplay enhancements.

Reason why Devil May Cry 4 is such a cool game is that features two protagonists – Neo and Dante – which come with their own unique weapons and sets of abilities. In game, you get the chance to fight huge demon bosses like mythical Berial or snake-like Echidna. Game also offers plenty of skills and abilities to unlock. You can overcharge your sword, perform amazing large scale attacks towards hordes of enemies, fight in the air, utilize pistols, and even spawn Pandora – a weapon that acts both as a gatling gun and a rocket launcher.

Besides offering refined gameplay and plenty of demons to kill, Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition also features three new playable characters and a Legendary Dark Knight Mode. In short, game has plenty of content, and offers a superb amount of replayability.

3. Minecraft

Official Minecraft Trailer

Almost 9 years after its official release, Minecraft is now a completely different game. And for the better. At the very beginning it was a game whose information was spread by mouth in schools and playgrounds across the world. Today, Minecraft is a huge franchise with its own spin-offs, movies and merchandise.

Even though at first it didn’t have a main story, Minecraft today features a very solid singleplayer campaign in which primary objective is to kill the ender dragon. However, in its roots, it is still a vast sandbox game in which you can do pretty much anything you want. From building houses, cathedrals, skyscrapers, making artificial lakes, caves and mountains, Minecraft is still an evergreen classic. When you get bored with that, there is still plenty of stuff to do. You can reorganize your creations, download new mods, play with your friends online, join server contents and so on.

If you lack creativity, we have a couple of ideas what you can build in Minecraft. For example, you could build an underground subway system, create huge bridges across abysses, build a replica of the Great Wall of China, build a Star Wars inspired city or just create a small simple house.

Although Minecraft today isn’t in focus of major gaming magazines anymore, it is still one of the most (if not THE most) popular games out there. Check out these deals and join 480 million players now!

2. Sid Meier’s Civilization V

Sid Meier's Civilization V Launch Trailer

Although Civilization VI has been released, and is widely available, Civilization V is still a great game to play. Like its prequels and spiritual RTS predecessor called Rise of Nations, in Civilization V you lead a civilization from its prehistoric times into a high-tech future. Using research, exploration, diplomacy, economic development and military conquests, your main goal is to make you civilization as successful as possible.

What is special about this game is that it uses procedurally generated maps, as well as computer-controlled city-states and NPC characters. It is a great game that offers tons of content and as such is a perfect pick if you like games from RTS genre.

Even though Civilization VI is a great game, Civilization V is still very popular game because it features clean interface, simpler game mechanics, better overall gameplay balance, and a religion system that is more polished than in its successor. Besides that, Civilization V is now extremely cheap, and as such is a good choice for the newcomers to the series.

1. BioShock: The Collection

If you have never played any of the games in the BioShock series, then you don’t know what have you missed. The original BioShock game, released in 2007, is considered to be a masterpiece of video game digital arts. Even 13 years old, it is still held as a pinnacle example of a great story-driven first person shooter. Besides being an awesome action-packed shooter, it also offers an amazingly intricate, yet well-executed story that tackles serious existential and political questions. Series is set in a dystopian retrofuturistic world, similiar to the ones described in novels of Aldous Huxley and George Orwell, in which a mysterious group of American business tycoons decides to build a city underwater. However, this city, called Rapture, isn’t just another town to live in, but a totally new society, isolated from the rest of the world, and governed by a completely different ideology.

Playing as Jack, a plane crash survivor in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, player’s main goal is to discover a mysterious underwater city that has never been heard of. During your playtime, you will discover that Rapture didn’t turn out to be what had been expected. Various genetic experiments transformed this hidden society into a living hell for its inhabitants. Armed with a good old “Tommy Gun”, and a pack of drugs that will keep you alive, you will get the chance to transform Rapture in your own way. Series’ last sequel, called BioShock Infinite, will even take you to the sky and provide you an experience of living in a cloud-floating city.

If you hadn’t played the games, or just want to replay this awesome series with high-definition remastered graphics in 60 FPS, then BioShock: The Collection is the best choice for you. Featuring all three installments, and all released DLCs, BioShock: The Collection can be bought for a small price from verified re-sellers.
