The legendary M4A1 is probably the most versatile gun in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019), and Call of Duty: Warzone. Depending on what attachments you put on this rifle, you can easily turn M4A1 into a designated marksman rifle, assault rifle, and even small machine gun. In this guide we will show you how to build the best possible loadout for using this gun in Call of Duty: Warzone matches.
The M4A1 is a basic Call of Duty: Warzone rifle, which means that you unlock it at level 1. It is a fully automatic, all purpose rifle which has a fair amount of recoil, however, if you can control it, it can be very effective at medium range.
Leveling up with this gun isn’t too hard. It is not the best suited rifle for close quarters combat, but it is great for engaging enemies at distance. Once you unlock other attachments, it is fairly easy to use this gun, especially if you install an optics attachment.

Best attachments for M4A1 in Call of Duty: Warzone
Monolithic Supressor – this attachment adds sound suppression feature which will keep you off from enemy UAV radar. Besides that, it also slightly improves damage range which means you’ll be able to shoot down enemies from few meters farther.
M16 Grenadier Barrel – this is probably the best barrel attachment for M4A1 in whole game. The Grenadier Barrel improves your rifle’s damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control. It is also the true M16 barrel, so it looks awesome on M4A1.
4.0x Flip Hybrid Optics – this optics attachment enables you to toggle between holo and scout mode. It also adds a fair amount of zoom level, and it gives you a very clean version due to large field of view.
Commando Foregrip – this foregrip attachment adds recoil stabilization and aiming stability at the expense of movement speed. In truth, it doesn’t completely improve recoil, but it prevents side-to-side recoil, and it negates visual recoil. This particularly makes gun easy to use at range.
50 Round Mags – these mags add more bullets to your disposal. This is especially useful when engaging enemies with full armor. The 50 Round Mags are useful for 3 player squads, but if you play solo, replace it with Granulated or Stippled Grip Tape for better ADS speed.
Best Secondary weapons in combination with M4A1
HDR Sniper – extremely efficient low muzzle velocity bolt-action sniper rifle. Perfect for Warzone battle royale matches, as well as dispatching enemies from long distances. Great sidearm in combination with M4A1.
Renetti Pistol – very good backup weapon with good aim control and decent firing range. Best used as an alternative for .357 and .50 if you have problems controlling big recoils.
Best perks in combination with M4A1
E.O.D. – since lots of people like to use explosive equipment such as claymores, C4 or RPGs, this perk is a must. Since you’ll be be engaging enemies from the distance, perks like Double Time aren’t worthwhile.
Overkill – this perk will ensure you’ll receive loadout drop faster. Once you call in a new loadout drop, switch this perk to Ghost, as it will protect you from being detected on enemy radar.
Amped – this perk is also a must, especially in Warzone. Switching to sniper rifles is really slow, so having this perk will improve your switching speed, and save your life.
Lethal and tactical equipment
Lethal: C4 – this is very useful for blowing up SUVs in Warzone. It is also very useful in later stages of the Warzone, as you’ll easily be able to blow up your enemies whose armor is depleted.
Tactical: Heartbeat Sensor – this is probably the best tactical equipment to use in Warzone. It is recommended to always have one in your squad. Using the heartbeat sensors you can easily throw smokes and stuns, and dispatch confused enemies.
