For many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) players, the AX-50 is probably the best sniper rifle you can find in the game. Not only that this gun is extremely powerful, but is also very easy to use and is perfect for quick target acquisitions. The AX-50 is superior to HDR for quick scoping as it has more attachments which enable you to increase ADS speed. In this guide we will show you how to build the best possible loadout for using this rifle in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare matches.

In order to unlock the AX-50, you will first have to reach level 37. The AX-50 is a hard-hitting, bolt action sniper rifle with .50 cal BMG ammunition. The rifle produces very high bullet velocity, but it require precise shots over long distances in order to hit the target.
Leveling up with this rifle can be quite demanding. The learning curve of using this rifle is very steep, however, once you figure out how to quickly acquire your targets, you will start getting kills with this gun pretty easily. After you unlock this rifle, your main objective should be unlocking new attachments, especially the Thermal Dual Power Scope Optics attachment.
Best attachments for AX-50 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Stippled Grip Tape – probably the best attachment in the game for this rifle. This attachment tremendously increases ADS speed, while slightly decreasing aiming stability. It also negligibly increases sprint to fire speed.
17.0″ Factory Barrel – this attachment is largely beneficial, as it increases ADS speed, as well as movement speed. However, there is one big caveat with this attachment as it decreases bullet velocity at most ranges. Luckily, this has no impact on close quarters combat, as one-shot kill range is set to 75 meters by default. This attachment can be swapped to Singuard Arms Pro barrel if you play Ground War a lot, or simply if you don’t like quick scoping.
Singuard Arms Assassin – another attachment which greatly increases ADS speed at the small cost of reducing the aiming stability which isn’t needed when quick scoping. For playing in Ground War or Warzone, it is preferable to switch to other stocks which increase aiming stability.
Tac Laser – increases ADS speed, aim walking steadiness and aiming stability at the expense of laser being visible to enemies. The latter, however, is completely irrelevant as quick-scoping lasts for a split of a second, and it makes laser hard to notice.
Thermal Dual Power Scope – probably the most powerful and precise optics attachment for this sniper rifle. It offers variable 5.0x and 12.1x magnification, as well as thermal imagining for more sensitive enemy detection. It has a very slow ADS, so if you don’t like it you can swap it for default optics scope and attach 7 Round Mags which will give you two extra rounds when in dire situations.
Best perks in combination with the AX-50
Cold-Blooded – since you play with a sniper rifle, this perk is an obvious choice. The cold-blooded perk will make you undetectable by AI targeting systems and thermal optics. However, if you plan to run all over the place a perform a lot of quick-scoping, then Double Time or Quick Fix perks might be better choices.
Ghost – another pretty self-explanatory perk. Ghost will make you undetectable by UAVs, Radar Drones, and Heartbeat Sensors. If you plan to run and gun with your AX-50 sniper rifle, other good perks are Hardline, or Restock.
Battle Hardened – since sniper rifles have slow ADS, minimizing the strength of enemy flash and stun grenades is very important. In that sense, using this perk seems like an obvious choice.
Lethal and tactical equipment
Lethal: Thermite – although thermite isn’t as effective as Semtex or Frag Grenades, landing it directly into an enemy will grant you insta kill. This lethal piece of equipment is particularly effective in Hardcore modes as it deals a great amount of damage to enemy players.
Tactical: Stim – running and gunning with the AX-50 can be pretty dangerous and can expose you to an enemy fire. Taking that into consideration, it is worthwhile to bring a pack of extra stims to boost your health levels while they are low.
